Think i got scammed on ebay again
September 2, 2010 4:09 am 181I had big problems last year with a very complex scam involving a car from abroad and basically ended up £600 out of pocket with no way of recovering the funds. Stayed well clear of ebay for months after that because i thought i couldn’t trust anyone on there. Well recently i needed to sell some stuff to save for our holiday, i listed a couple of old mobiles that we no longer used and i couldn’t believe it when they sold in less than 2 mins of going live! ive never had any thing sell that quickly before. Unfortunately this was short lived because i started getting emails about sending the phone off to africa, i had no real problem with this but seemed like they wanted all tracking info and everything first. I even received an email claiming to be from Paypal telling me i had to supply tracking info before they will release the funds which i think is crazy, i did later find out this was part of the ebay international trading scam and paypal never do this. At first though i was taken in by it all and even got quotes from my local post office to see how cheaply i could post it and it turned out to be very expensive and luckily i didn’t have enough money on me because otherwise i would have posted it. I got home and because i had a funny feeling about it i did a bit more research and saw that other people had been put in the same position and then scammed! i tried to find a ebay technical support phone number but came up with nothing. I immediately emailed the buyer to tell them to cancel it all but i never heard back from them, no money ever got in my paypal account so i just re-listed it.
