Directory Link Promotion Requires a Superlative Directory Submitter

7:10 am Business

Directory link promotion is not an easy task if you do it by hand. And you can’t trust automated directory submitters. Why? Because they will put your site on ANY directory.

Why is that a bad thing? I mean, a link is a link, right? Wrong. There are many directories out there that are very bad neighborhoods. They have p*rn sites, gambling sites, hate sites and worse on them.

is that the kind of directory you want your website listed on? Do you know what Google will do to you when they find your website on one of these directories? I shudder to think.

You run the same risk with the Indian or Philippines directory submission services. They don’t discriminate between good neighborhoods or bad. They just crank out the submissions and you get what they give you.

No, you need to maintain control. What’s more, six or seven years ago it was all about how many links you could get. Not anymore.

Today, it’s all about the quality of links.

So, we’ve established that you have to maintain control of where your website is placed. The best way I’ve found to do that (and I’ve done my share of searches) is directory submitter.

If you’re familiar with Brad Callen, this is one of his products. The free version of Directory Submitter comes with a list of 350 directories. The paid version comes with hundreds more.

Believe me, this thing is fast, automated and efficient. But it’s still going to take you a long while before you get your site submitted to all these directories.

And that’s a good thing. Google considers sudden large numbers of links to be spamming. Especially if they all come from the same type of site like directories.

Follow the link if you want to read a good review of Brad Callen’s directory submitter.
